Ukraine confirms that Russia already controls the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant

The Ukrainian authorities have confirmed this Friday that the Russian forces have taken control of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, hours after an artillery attack that has caused a fire in the facilities that has subsequently been extinguished.

The National Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine has indicated in a statement published on its website that the Zaporizhia facilities “have been taken over by the Russian military forces” and has added that for now there is no information on deaths and injuries.
